Master the Dual Outfit Technique in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered!

This guide details how to combine the benefits of two outfits in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, enhancing your gameplay experience. Note that this feature is exclusive to the Remastered version.

Remastered Version Required:

The ability to leverage the effects of two outfits is a feature introduced in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered via a recent patch, utilizing the game's transmog system. This allows you to maintain the stats and effects of one outfit while visually displaying another.

Outfit Requirements:

This technique has limitations. While your primary outfit can be any you prefer, your secondary outfit (used for its visual appearance via transmog) must be one of the following Banuk Werak outfits, obtainable through the Frozen Wilds DLC:

  • Banuk Werak Runner
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (New Game+ only)

Access to the Frozen Wilds DLC is not contingent on completing the main game.

Acquiring Banuk Werak Outfits:

Banuk Werak Runner:

Acquire this outfit from any Bluegleam Merchant (marked by a blue merchant icon) within the Frozen Wilds after defeating the initial machine guarding the area. Resource costs vary based on difficulty:

Resource Normal Cost Ultra Hard Cost
Metal Shards 1000 5000
Desert Glass 10 20
Slagshine Glass 10 20

Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept:

The Banuk Werak Chieftain (and its Adept variant in NG+) is obtained by completing the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. This quest can be challenging; consider lowering the difficulty if needed.

Combining Outfit Effects:

Here's how to combine the benefits:

  1. Equip your desired outfit – the one providing the stats you want (remember you can enhance stats with Weaves).
  2. Utilize the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits.

This allows you to retain your chosen outfit's stats while gaining the passive auto-healing effect provided by the Banuk Werak outfits. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept offer significantly faster healing than the Runner. Combining this with an outfit like the Shield Weaver makes you incredibly resilient.
