DOOM launched on Apple's Lightning/HDMI adapter

The DOOM franchise's cross-platform compatibility continues to amaze. A recent feat showcases the game running on an unexpected platform: Apple's Lightning/HDMI adapter. NyanSatan, the individual behind this accomplishment, leveraged the adapter's iOS-based firmware and 168 MHz processor. Due to the adapter's lack of internal memory, a MacBook was used to facilitate the firmware transfer and game execution.

Regarding upcoming iterations, DOOM: The Dark Ages introduces a significant accessibility focus. Players will have extensive control over the game's difficulty, allowing adjustments to demon aggression, enemy damage, projectile speed, and even the overall game pace and parry timing. This level of customization surpasses previous id Software titles.

Executive producer Marty Stratton emphasizes the game's accessibility. He confirms that prior DOOM experience isn't necessary to understand the narratives of DOOM: The Dark Ages or its connection to DOOM: Eternal.
