Reaching Bloodmoon Island in Divinity: Original Sin 2

Bloodmoon Island, shrouded in Deathfog and with its connecting bridge destroyed, presents a significant challenge in Divinity: Original Sin 2. This guide outlines the methods to overcome this obstacle and access the island's quests and storyline advancements.

Method 1: The Spirit Bridge

The remnants of the destroyed bridge, northeast of Cloisterwood, near Jahan and Witch Alice, can be traversed using several methods:

  1. Gloves of Teleportation: These gloves (obtained in Act 1) allow repeated teleportation, enabling you to move each party member individually across the broken bridge segments.

  2. Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat allow for teleportation. However, this is limited by party member skill sets.

  3. Teleporter Pyramids: Two pyramids are needed. One companion uses translocation to cross, then the rest teleport to their location using the pyramids.

  4. Fast Travel: A companion with translocation crosses, discovers the Bloodmoon Island waypoint, allowing the rest of the party to fast travel there.

Method 2: The Undead Ferry

Located northwest of Cloisterwood, an undead ferryman offers passage across the Deathfog. However, this is a trap; only undead characters like Fane are immune to the Deathfog.

  • With Fane: Fane can safely take the ferry, discover the waypoint, and allow the rest of the party to fast travel.

  • Without Fane: This requires at least two Teleporter Pyramids. A companion takes the ferry (dying in the process), then the remaining party teleports to the deceased companion using the pyramids, reviving them afterward. This method is generally less efficient than using the spirit bridge.

Important Note: Avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman unless you've saved your game. He retaliates with a deadly Deathfog spell. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP. If not using Fane, the spirit bridge is the recommended approach for its speed and efficiency.
