Cosmic Conundrum: New Visual Novel Explores Strange Market on Jupiter
Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio's latest adventure, Universe for Sale, is now available. Following on the heels of successful titles like The Darkside Detective series and Zoeti, this new game promises a unique and captivating experience.
Is the Universe Really for Sale?
Set on a Jupiter space station, the game unfolds in a bizarre, acid-rain-soaked bazaar. Orangutans with surprising wit work the docks, and cultists trade flesh for enlightenment. The universe itself is for sale, thanks to Lila, a woman with the unusual ability to create universes from her very hand.
The game begins in a mining colony shantytown, where you play as the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment. Exploring the ramshackle colony, you eventually encounter Honin's Tea House, Lila's shop, and the mystery surrounding her begins to unfold as you shift between her perspective and the Master's.
Lila's gameplay involves creating universes in a captivating mini-game, mixing and matching ingredients to produce mesmerizing visual worlds. Meanwhile, the Master's journey delves into the philosophies of the Cult of Detachment and encounters with the Church of Many Gods.
The narrative unfolds gradually, prompting players to theorize about the unfolding events. Each character, whether human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, and the richly detailed world invites exploration.
