EA Sports UFC 5 Receives January 9th Update: New Fighter and Bug Fixes

EA Vancouver has dropped a new update for EA Sports UFC 5, launching January 9th at 1 PM ET on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Patch 1.18 introduces undefeated fighter Azamat Murzakanov and addresses several bugs.

Following October 2023's initial release, EA Vancouver has been actively expanding UFC 5's roster, aiming for parity with current UFC rankings. This update brings the game closer to that goal. While speculation persists about a new UFC game, EA Vancouver's continued support for UFC 5 is evident.

The update adds Azamat Murzakanov to the Light Heavyweight division, boasting impressive stats: a 97 power punch rating, 95 accuracy, and 94 ground striking. Additionally, three new fighter alter egos are included, though their identities remain undisclosed.

Beyond the roster additions, Patch 1.18 includes minor bug fixes and a gameplay adjustment: the stamina cost of the muscle modifier has been reduced from x3.125 to 2.5. Specific bug fixes include correcting translation errors in some languages and resolving a Ranked Championship issue ("Stand and Bang") where match results weren't displayed correctly. Updated portraits for Stipe and Jones from UFC 309 also feature.

Furthermore, EA Sports UFC 5 joins Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via EA Play on January 14th, expanding its accessibility to subscribers.
