UPGRADES

While the core game is free to play, optional upgrades allow you to tailor your conquest. Choose your starting faction, territory size, or unleash fantasy battles pitting any two cultures against each other—with as many warriors as your device can handle! You can even edit every character in the world, though please note the game dynamically uses up to 1,000 characters that are regularly refreshed.

CONTROLS

When controlling an individual character, choose between the streamlined "Classic" one-handed scheme or the "Dual Wield" system for independent left/right hand actions. If you're new to the series, you can pause anytime by tapping the timeline and review the detailed "Controls" guide. Also, keep an eye out for in-game hints from scrolls and books you can collect and read.

Switch which team member you're controlling instantly by tapping their health bar or pointing directly at them on the battlefield. Tap the arrows at the screen's bottom to enter "Commander" mode—zoom out and direct any unit by swiping from their position to a target. Whether you command them to move, attack, or interact, they'll interpret your orders. Be aware, however, that they'll act according to their own judgment and may have competing priorities!

Regardless of your device or control style, you can always zoom the view in or out with a pinch gesture at the center of the screen.

MAP

In the main "Campaign" mode, expand your empire by moving units from one territory to any adjacent one. You can "fortify" a region you hold or launch an attack to seize a rival's land. Note that only 50% of a territory's units can be deployed for movement—making offense significantly harder than defense.

The population in any occupied territory may grow after each turn, so controlling more land is key to long-term power. Also note that units heal gradually over time, so rotating your focus between different fronts each round is a sound strategy.

PERFORMANCE

Please be advised: this is the largest-scale game I've created to date and may require a high-end device to run at peak performance. To improve performance, consider lowering the "Population" setting to reduce on-screen characters or adjusting other options in the "Display" menu.
